NBA MONDAY – 12/28/09

Posted by bookiebusta on December 28, 2009

[NBA YTD TOTAL: 108-89-1: +49.3 UNITS]

[P.O.D. YTD: 29-18+36.3 UNITS]

PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS -6 (P.O.D.) **4 UNITS**

Why am I taking the Blazers here when they still lack a big man, and the Sixers have covered in 5 out of their last 7 matchups in Portland… The line opened at -7.5 in my book and has shot down to 6 in my book, 5.5 in some places.. but WHY?! Philadelphia is a horrendous 3-12 on the road this season, and a meager 8-6-1 ATS in that span… Let’s call it the public fade of the week, as 90% of the masses are riding with the Sixers tonight, not to mention, it’s one of the “plays of the day” brought to you by Covers… and btw, to all you Covers readers.. Roy and Aldridge CAN play 40+ minutes/game…. Juwan Howard to the BANK!!!

NEW JERSEY NETS +6 **3 UNITS**

And so we move on to the Nets… Finally with almost all the pieces of the puzzle back, the New Jersey Nets are looking to buy a few wins… A young nucleus of Devin Harris, Courtney Lee, Brook Lopez, and Yi Jianlian doesn’t seem like a bad team, and things should look even better once CDR comes back into the lineup.. It seems that with all these “no-name” players, talent is beginning to emerge.. I mean, it’s the NBA… you get paid millions to shoot a ball into a hoop… anyone on an NBA roster should be capable of putting up points… right? Even if your name is Trenton Hassell… 7-foot Chinese boy to the BANK!!!

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS +6 **3 UNITS**

Oh boy.. where do I start for this one… Do I start with the fact that without Paul Pierce, the C’s were defeated by the LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS last night, who were without Marcus Camby and still no Blake Griffin… Or do I say that on the road, in a back-to-back game, being OLD is gonna take its toll… Everyone is expecting the C’s to come back after their loss last night, but I don’t see that happening.. The Warriors have played the Celtics tough, anytime that Boston has been in town… and things don’t change tonight… The Warriors will pound them with jumpshots, until they get their shots going, and will continue to score all night with exciting young players like Ellis, Randolph, and Curry, to veterans like Maggette.. Anthony Morrow to the BANK!!!
