[NBA Pre-season YTD: 1-2]

So I stayed away from pre-season NBA up until yesterday, and what do you know? The day that I decide to bet, the Celtics decide not to play Pierce, Garnett, and Ray Allen… They still pulled off a W somehow, but did not cover the spread.. The Pistons who were 4-0 up until last night had their streak broken, once again, the day that I decided to bet… and the last game was a given, where Orlando just tore through CP3 and company… I’ll take one more stab at pre-season, and if it’s unproductive, then we’ll just wait it out til the regular season.. The NBA… “where amazing happens”..

So like I stated above, KG, Pierce, and Jesus Shuttlesworth were missing in action last night.. They probably won’t be playing tonight once again.. The Raptors spent their whole offseason stocking up on every single Euro player they could get their hands on… The end result? A bunch of white boys that can shoot, accompanied by a beastly Chris Bosh.. but that’s not why I like the Raptors tonight… I’ll say this once.. Remember the name.. DeMar DeRozan

Shaq and Penny became Shaq and Kobe.. which then became Shaq and the Flash.. to the failed Shaq and Amare.. and now finally… Shaq and the King… Pairing these two was probably the biggest offseason buzz this year, topping out Sheed to the Celts, Artest to the Lake Show, Jefferson to the Spurs, and even Vinsanity to the Magic… But the dynamic duo is not the reason why they’re going to win by more than 7 tonight… Besides having the best home record in the league last year at 39-2, the Cavs made a lot of offseason moves in a very quiet manner… Jomario Moon from the Heat, Anthony Parker from the Raptors, and Leon Powe from the Celtics added to the already stacked roster from last year = representatives from the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals in 2010..

LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS @ SAN ANTONIO SPURS

Okay, so you ask.. why would you ever take the Clippers on a bet? Historically, they have a horrible ATS record… But have you seen the way the Clips have been playing lately… Let me narrow it down some more.. More specifically, have you seen the way Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon, and Rasual Butler have been playing? I say this every year, that the Clippers are gonna be good.. but injury plagues them 20 games into the season until the end of the season… So this year, I won’t say they’re going to be good… They’re going to be FUN to watch… and they could be good, if we ever let go of Coach Dunleavy.. Every year, on paper, we have one of the better teams in the league.. but when it comes down to the nitty gritty, we all know how the cookie crumbles.. Look for big games from Butler, Gordon, and Griffin again, but I see a nice performance from DeAndre Jordan tonight… Let’s go CLIPS!!!
