FOOL’S GOLD – BEST NBA BETS

That's not even right...

That's not even right...

Toronto @ Orlando -9.5 (O/U 204.5)

Pick: Orlando

Pick: Under 204.5

If Dwight Howard were human, I would have gone with Toronto. But that’s not the case.. He is the youngest player to record 5,000 rebounds, and he seems to be only getting better. In a tight race with the Boston Celtics for the #2 spot in the East, Dwight Howard will look to get a win against Bosh and his Raptors, winners of 4 in a row (but they were all at home). The Raptors haven’t been the same team on the road this year, and I don’t see any different tonight. BLOWOUT!

Charlotte @ Boston -8.5 (O/U 180.5)

Pick: Boston

Pick: Under 180.5

The Charlotte Bobcats upset the Lakers last night, but their luck is running out. They go into Boston tonight, who will be without Kevin Garnett, looking to make the playoffs by seasons end. Boston has managed to stay afloat without their star big man, and the Bobcats coming off a back-to-back against the Lakers, should be in no condition to step to the Celts. I see the Celts easily beating the Bobcats by 10+ at home. DEFENSE!

Los Angeles Lakers @ Milwaukee +6.5 (O/U 202.5)

Pick: Lakers

Pick: Under 202.5

The Lakers are coming off a very disappointing loss to the Bobcats. After leading by 1 at halftime, the Lakers just went cold and it really looked like they stopped caring. I assume they would be tired as they played 7 road games in 13 days, but still, that’s no excuse for Kobe and his team to lose to the struggling Bobcats. There’s even more reasons why they shouldn’t lose to the Bucks. The Bucks have been without stars Michael Redd and Andrew Bogut for a while now. The Lakers need tonight’s game to build momentum towards the playoffs. It should be an easy blowout if the Lakers can get back in rhythm.

Washington @ Memphis -2.5 (O/U 201.5)

Pick: Washington +2.5

Two of the league’s worst face off tonight. There’s absolutely no meaning to this game, except, whoever continues to lose, has a higher chance at the upcoming lottery draft. However, the Washington Wizards have managed to gel together this season with their young talent, as Arenas was sidelined for almost the entirety of the season, and Butler was out for countless games. The only reason I take Washington tonight is, now that the starters are back for Washington, the young guys that were taking their place will be coming off the bench to take on a weak Memphis bench.

Miami @ Dallas -5 (O/U 196.5)

Pick: Miami +5

Pick: Over 196.5

This should be a repeat of the NBA Finals a few years back. Wade has been on a rampage all season long… don’t look for it to stop now. The Dallas Mavericks will once again be without Josh Howard in their lineup, who is essential for their team’s success. Look for more MVP type numbers from Wade tonight, as this should be a high scoring, fast-paced game.

New Orleans @ Los Angeles Clippers +3.5 (O/U 194.5)

Pick: New Orleans -3.5

Pick: Under 194.5

CP3, last year’s runner-up for MVP, will look to build off their exciting win at Sacramento, when Butler hit the game winning 3-pointer. Not like you need momentum to go in and beat the Clippers, who have been injury plagued all season long. Tonight the Clippers will be without forward Al Thornton and center Marcus Camby, but Baron Davis is probable for return. Clips should keep it close for the first half, and then completely fall apart 2nd half, as the trend usually goes..

WHERE ARE THE LAKERS?!

Kobe and the Lakers have become complacent...

Kobe and the Lakers have become complacent...

Ever since this site started up last week, I have posted my picks on the Lakers 3 times (2 of which I bet on them, and 1 time against)… All 3 times, the Lakers have managed to find a way to do me dirty..

After winning their first 4 games of their current 7-game road trip, the Lakers have dropped their last 2 to the Atlanta Hawks and the Charlotte Bobcats. Tonight, the Lakers take on the Milwaukee Bucks. Having lost yesterday to the Bobcats, Kobe and the Lakers look to redeem themselves, and show the rest of the league that their past 2 games have been a fluke and that they’re still hungry to win. The Lakers have locked for themselves home court throughout the Western Conference playoffs, but it seems like the Cleveland Cavaliers will be the ones to hold down home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

Now I don’t see how the Lakers can lose to the Bucks tonight, even if Jefferson and Villanueva manage to go for 29 each.. but the again, who knows? The Lakers have lost their last 2 meetings in Milwaukee, where Kobe was suspended for one of the games.

Kobe "Ocho" Bryant

Kobe "Ocho" Bryant

In order for the Lakers to win tonight, Kobe needs to be aggressive like he was back when he was number ocho. Look at that guy.. he’s flying! The Lakers have become complacent, and it almost feels like they forgot how to score. They need to shake off their previous games, and come out strong from the beginning. The X-factor for tonight’s game is Lamar Odom. If Odom can put together a solid night, the Lakers should breeze by the lowly Bucks tonight.
